But ALADDIN AND THE KING OF THIEVES was a nice return to form, with Robin Williams back as the Genie. The problem is that these STORIES don't really merit a sequel, despite what studio executives think.D.W. One I recall (granted many are like this, but I bring this out because they corrected a bit)... Cinderella. A classical fairy tale. Cinderella 2? A flop. But Cinderella 3 worked for me. If they could go back and just not write 2, but stick with the third... it may have been an actual success instead of just a way to try and exploit more from parents like us with girls that want princesses regardless of a story. Cinderella 3 develops with an alternate timeline when the wand is stolen by one of the stepsisters and the stepmom uses it to go back in time and help the stepsister win over the prince by means of the wand. The second is three different stories meshed into a movie. It really was terrible. Not even my daughter liked it. It currently holds a rare 0% on Rotten Tomatoes. How did that thing make money? Everyone had to try it once with their little girl and were too ashamed to admit to their friends they had seen it?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
